Tips to make your chosen glasses last longer
The long-term usability of our glasses depends primarily on us who wear them.
Here are some tips to enjoy your chosen glasses for a long time:
- Always put your glasses on and take them off your face with both hands, holding both stems.
- Glasses are not a hairband 😊 – when you are not wearing them, always put them back in their case.
- Never put your glasses on a table or cabinet with the lenses facing down.
- Regular cleaning is important!
- Use a microfiber cloth for this.
- Avoid paper-based materials (napkins, wipes). These may contain wood fibers that can scratch the lens.
- Rinse very dirty glasses first in plenty of water to prevent smaller dust particles from scratching the lens surface when using the cloth.
- You can also wash your glasses regularly: warm water and a liquid soap or dishwashing detergent with a pH close to neutral are ideal
- Do not expose your glasses to extreme temperature fluctuations or extreme temperatures (e.g. leaving them in a car in the summer), as the different thermal expansion of the materials and the lens layers can cause permanent damage.
